Department of Urdu, Arabic and Persian Departmental Information for last five years § About The Department The Department of Urdu Arabic and Persian of Poona College, Pune was established in 1970 with the inception of the College. It offers courses in Urdu to P.G level and in Persian and Arabic to U.G. level. This Department is the only department in Pune city having Persian as a subject and one of the tow departments having Arabic. The department is fortunate enough to have faculty members from top most universities of the country like J.M.I. and J.N.U. § Goals · To enable students to understand the language and use it correctly · To inculcate moral values in the students through such texts of all three languages. § Objectives · To Serve the sweet but declining language like Urdu · To create interest in students for learning foreign languages like Arabic and Persian which is very beneficial in this era of globaliz
